Sustainability in CDC

Basic Policy on Sustainability

We aim to create a society in which working people have good jobs and lead good lives from the perspective of the employment of human resources. By providing support starting from career selection so that working people can lead more prosperous lives, and by creating both social and economic value through our businesses under proper corporate governance as a company trusted by society, we seek to contribute to making society sustainable and to improve corporate value.

Promotion System

Our sustainability efforts shall be supervised by the Director in charge of administration, and the Corporate Planning Bureau shall plan and draft policies and measures, which shall then be submitted or reported to the Board of Executives and the Board of Directors.

Value Creation Process

Identification of Material Issues (Materialities)

In September 2022, we identified five material issues (materialities) to be addressed as priorities in order to achieve a sustainable society and continue to expand CDC's corporate value.

As Japan has faced the issue of a declining birthrate and aging population, we have supported its people in changing careers through the mobility of highly career-oriented human resources who are "one level higher," mainly IT engineers and women. Despite many crises such as the bursting of the IT bubble and the global financial crisis, human resource services have been the focus of Japan's growth strategy amid global trends and the weakening Japanese economy.

Similarly, during the COVID-19 pandemic, our human resources services have proven to be a necessary sector for Japan, and they have become indispensable in terms of the social structure of the future. We believe that we have an extremely important societal role to play in order to achieve a sustainable society from both the individual and corporate perspectives; in other words, from the perspective of providing jobs and companies that satisfy individuals, and of recruiting human resources who will enable companies and their business to develop and grow. Our vision is to become a company that always solves social issues not only in the short term of five years ahead but also 20 or 30 years into the future. Based on this value creation story, we strive for effective management and business activities to solve issues, with recognition of the importance of the material issues we have identified.

Identification Process

Material Issues (Materialities) for Sustainability

Material Issue1

Respecting diversity and creating an environment that values employee engagement

We will accept diversity by respecting the personalities of all individuals and we will aim to create an environment where people can work in a healthy and safe manner so that each and every employee can demonstrate their full potential and personality and play an active role.

Material Issue2

Energizing companies and facilitating economic growth

We will contribute to economic growth by promoting corporate growth through the mobility of human resources who develop their own careers autonomously, thereby increasing corporate value.

Material Issue3

Strengthening corporate governance

We will aim to achieve sound and highly transparent corporate governance and to continuously increase corporate value. Governance Initiatives

Material Issue4

Realizing diverse workstyles that match the sense of value and workstyle requests of each individual

As people's values change from day to day, we will aim to create a society in which everyone can play an energetic and active role by providing flexible workstyles that match values of individuals.

Material Issue5

Providing job seekers with opportunities for career development while also working to improve their standard of living

We will help each individual to improve their quality of life by providing opportunities for them to think consciously about their own careers and to develop their own vocational abilities spontaneously.
