About CDC
The Goals of CDC
Revitalize companies and contribute to the development of the Japanese economy through the mobility of high-quality human resources
Career Design Center was established in 1993 by the current Chairman and CEO Hiromi Tada to address the extremely serious problems of the declining working population due to Japan’s declining birthrate and aging population, and the resulting decline of the domestic economy. The decline in the working population is expected to lead to a decline in the corporate ability to recruit, a factor that could significantly affect the future growth of the Japanese economy. We aim to revitalize companies and contribute to the development of the Japanese economy by supporting companies in securing workforces in terms of both quality and quantity through the mobility of high-quality human resources through mid-career recruitment.
The history of our business
Our main business when Career Design Center was founded was providing the latest business information to highly career-oriented engineers and businesspeople and publishing magazines with information on selected job openings. In October 2004, CDC was listed on the Hercules market of the Osaka Exchange and moved to the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange in September 2006. It was listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange in July 2013.
Business Concept
Targeting highly career-oriented human resources
For a company to promote growth and increase its corporate value, it is essential to secure a workforce of both quality and quantity. As the working population decreases due to the declining birthrate and aging population, companies are seeking and recruiting selected human resources who have careers, experience, and expertise and who are talented enough to increase corporate value, namely, highly career-oriented human resources.
By targeting this segment, we are able to concentrate our management resources and differentiate ourselves with our unique product and service lineup.
Business strategy
Strength 1
Focusing on IT engineers and women, mainly in the Tokyo metropolitan area and the Kansai area
As IT is rapidly adopted by companies and by society, one major challenge is the shortage of engineers in the IT industry. Since our foundation in 1993, we have developed a wide range of services specialized for recruitment support in this domain. One of our strengths is supporting recruitment in the IT engineer sector, an area of business that we believe will continue to grow.
In addition, as Japan’s birthrate declines and its population ages, exacerbating the labor force shortage, it is expected that the number of women in workforce will increase going forward. Demand for women workers is growing, and we are receiving more consultations year after year thanks to our strength in recruitment of women.
Strength 2
A comprehensive human resource service company with the type brand
The mid-career job site type attracts more than one million visitors per month, making it the most accessed site among major mid-career job sites in Japan and creating synergy with other services.
Since we provide a variety of services, we can solve all kinds of issues in recruitment faced by job seekers and recruiting companies. We are also strengthening the mutual functions among products and services so our services will be more convenient for both job seekers and recruiting companies.
